Certified Addiction Counseling Training Program: A Workforce Development Initiative
Mission
To professionally train individuals in recovery according to the standards set by the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), leading to an increase in the number of well-trained, highly skilled recovering counselors.
Who can participate
Anyone who is a member of the 12-step and/or faith-based recovery community with a desire to become an ethically trained certified addiction counselor.
Requirements
- Attend monthly training sessions sponsored by RCA, Inc.
- 4 hours per month of supervised clinical supervision
- Participate in a minimum of 32 hours of volunteer/work experience per month
- Participate in our exam preparation course
- Attend conferences on alcohol and other drug studies
Cost
Free to non-certified members of the recovery community. All others participants are required to pay $25.00 per training session. All training sessions offer NAADAC contact hours.
Timeline
Approximately 2 – 3 years to complete all requirements
